SCHOOL CONCEPT PROJECT/TEAM

COWORKING SPACES

In this concept project, we chose the lighting and materials for a co-working space. Prioritizing the concept of ‘balance’, we focused on incorporating  elements traditionally associated with nature, pleasure and relaxation in attempt to facilitate a stable working environment though design.

Shoji screens against glass serve as partitions between the private offices and corridors. These are lit from their interior, emanating  a soft ambiance. The private offices have supplemental downlights with diffusing lenses, while the shoji glow becomes the main illuminance in the walkways.

The center lounge is grounded sand with stepping stones, and islands with tables and seats, all anchored with a double-height jadeite wall. The reception and pantry spaces are inner-lit onyx tables. A large auxiliary space becomes a yoga studio and spa, with soft-colored light and a waterfall wall.
